Small business partners with national childhood cancer research non-profit
DIETRICH has partnered for the past few holiday seasons, with Cookies for Kids’ Cancer to send delicious cookies to their clients. This partnership gave them an appetite to give back beyond the season of giving. New in 2018, DIETRICH will be gifting a Cookies for Kids’ Cancer Box of Hope to all new business closed.
“We always got such great feedback from clients expressing how much they appreciated us not only thinking of them, but also benefitting a special organization” says Krista Koteles, VP of Marketing with DIETRICH.
“We truly enjoy working with the team at Cookies for Kids’ Cancer and the way they conduct themselves as a non-profit is paramount. One of their Partner Centers is in our backyard, at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Most importantly, the impact they are making through their contributions to childhood cancer research is what inspired us to reach out and develop a deeper partnership. The statistics behind childhood cancer really shed light on how much of a need there is for funding and improved, less toxic treatment options.”, said Koteles.
In addition, the team will kick off the organization’s significant month of “Make It Count May”, with an in-office cookie tasting followed by matching a portion funds raised by Cookies for Kids’ Cancer from May 10th to May 13th. The thirteenth of May is the birthday of Cookies for Kids’ Cancer’s founders’ son Liam, who lost his brave four-year battle with cancer at the age of six.
Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a national 501(c)3 non-profit, is committed to raising funds for research to develop new, improved, and less toxic treatments for pediatric cancer, the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S. The organization provides inspiration and support for individuals, businesses and organizations to raise funds through grassroots fundraising, annual events, and more. Founded in 2008 by parents inspired by their young son’s courageous battle, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer has granted $15 million to childhood cancer research, funding 100 research grants, resulting in 37 new treatments now in clinical trial and available to children today.
